Manifesting in 2020

Do you create vision boards? I created one for 2020 and even though this year was really unpredictable - everything (almost) came true. I didn’t get my new car yet, but truth be told - I didn’t add that photo when I first created my board and set my intentions - it was an after-thought. :)

What do I mean when I say that ‘everything on my vision board from 2020 came true’. I think it’s really important that we do this practice. It makes a huge difference in our mindset and our thoughts throughout the year. We have the responsibility to ourselves to put our goals out there. To see them every day and make sure we’re doing our best to achieve them. How else can we be authentically ourselves?

If you’re not doing this, I highly suggest you start at least setting some intentions for the new year and putting them somewhere you can see them every single day. You can create a vision board without actually having to cut out magazines - because let’s be real - some of you probably don’t even get magazines anymore! We are in the paperless era - but me - I love a magazine, and I love paper.

Here are some fun ways you can create a vision board without using photos:

  • Write it in the notes section of your phone and set a reminder for every day to open that note and read your goals.

  • Using a pen and paper write down your goals and tape them to your bathroom mirror, your nightstand, or on your bedroom door as you walk out the door so you see it multiple times a day.

  • Create a Pinterest board with things that inspire you to reach your goals you set for the next year.

  • If you like to draw, sketch out some words and drawings that represent the goals you want to achieve

I created mine for 2020 using cut-outs from magazines and it sat in front of my bedroom door all year. That way I saw it every single day, multiple times a day. Reminding me that I wanted to find freedom and fun this year. I wanted to be cozy at home, birth a healthy baby, find family time, decorate our home, stop procrastinating on organization projects, and figure out what I wanted to do for a career - new beginnings. 2020 was certainly a year for new beginnings.

Over the next 2 weeks I’ll work on my vision board for 2021. I’ll share with you too so you can see how I go through this process and decide which goals I’ll set to achieve and how I create my board. It’s more than cutting pretty pictures out of a magazine. Creating a vision board is thoughtful, deep work that if done properly, truly impacts your life.

XO,

E
